Crossing

Retired teacher Lia wants to find out what has become of her niece Tekla, who has been missing for years. Lia gets a tip from Achi, a quirky teenager from her neighbourhood in Batumi, that Tekla has swapped the tranquil conditions of Georgia for the vibrant life in Istanbul. The unlikely couple set off together on a journey to the Turkish metropolis, where they succumb to the fascinating and chaotic charm of the city. But they find no clues as to Tekla's whereabouts. It is only with the help of the dedicated lawyer Evrim that they are able to find their way through Istanbul's alleyways and backstreets and track down Tekla.
