Sylvia works as a social worker in New York City in a home for adults with mental illness. The single mother leads a simple, structured life with her daughter and regularly attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. After the anniversary of her former high school class, she is followed home by a man. Frightened, Sylvia locks the door and closes the curtains. The next morning, he is still sitting under her window, freezing and dripping wet: Saul has dementia and has lost his way. The two have one thing in common: their memory. While she tries to forget her painful past, he struggles with the incipient loss of his memory. Against all odds, the two find each other.

In "Memory", multi-award-winning Mexican director Michel Franco tells a restrained, haunting relationship story - fragile, seemingly impossible and yet full of hope. Oscar winner Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard impress with their subtle and multi-faceted acting. "Memory" celebrated its world premiere at the 2023 Venice Film Festival.
