Cocó is eight years old and no longer wants to be called by her birth name, Aitor. But on summer vacation with her family in the Basque country, her wish is ignored by almost everyone, especially her traditional grandmother. Her mother Ane tries to be there for her child despite her own challenges, but Cocó only really is met with understanding by her unwavering great-aunt, who is a beekeeper. This gives Cocó the self-confidence she needs to stand up for her own identity and its acceptance.

Director Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren manages to show the complexity of family and identity in a sensitive way.
