With subtlety, director Sophia Coppola draws the portrait of a woman trapped in a gilded cage. She places Priscilla Presley, usually in the King's shadow, in the spotlight and shows the American myth of this turbulent marriage, from the point of view of this infatuated young girl who would become a strong, independent woman. Priscilla Presley was involved in the film as producer; her autobiographical book "Elvis and Me" was the starting point. This film, which tells the story of an emancipation, resurrects the 60s and 70s, with elaborate historical settings, elegant costumes, opulent make-up and, of course, a lively soundtrack by Phoenix.
